Contrôle de l’acarien rouge (Tetranychus evansi) Baker et Patrichard dans la production de la tomate (Solanum lycopepsicum L.) à Kétou (Sud-Bénin).
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is a nutrient-rich fruit vegetable highly prized in Benin and is one of the most produced market garden crops. Despite its many benefits, its production is still low. This low production is due, among other things, to the high parasitic pressure, the decline in soil fertility and problems of water. The objective of our challenge is to produce healthy tomato plants with appreciable agronomic growth parameters and with a good yield for the markets of Kétou and the surrounding area. For this, different doses of the biopesticide Ecopticide and the biofertilizer Turitek were used to evaluate their effects respectively on red mites and other pests that destroy tomato plants and on the agronomic parameters of growth and productivity. The experimental device carried out is a complete random block with three repetitions and seven treatments. The treatments were applied 14 days after transplanting (DAR) at two frequencies every 7 days for treatments T2, T3 and T4 and every 14 days for treatments T5, T6 and T7. The results obtained showed that whatever the dose and the frequency of application that the action of the biopesticide proved to be effective in the management of whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci Gennadius) and the tomato fruitworm (Helicoverpa armigera Hübner) observed during the experiment. On the other hand, twice the recommended dose (20ml/l) at an application frequency of 7 days had a significant effect on red mites (T. evansi) of tomato, whose populations increased from 9.77 at 0.11 on average compared to the control. The Turitek biofertilizer, on the other hand, made it possible to increase the agronomic parameters of growth of tomato plants. Thus, the number of leaves increased from 5.11 to 16.88 on average; the diameter at the collar from 0.29 to 1.18 cm on average; the height of the plants from 13.36 to 123.44 cm on average; and the yield is 16.55 to 28.33 T/ha on average respectively compared to the control. The combination of biopesticide and biofertilizer at a dose of 20ml/l with an application frequency of 7 days made it possible to meet our challenge.
